Elvira Herrera

In loving Memory of Elvira Herrera, daughter of deceased parents, Rosendo Gutierrez, and Julia Deleon, who passed away Saturday night, October 23, 2021. She was surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. A loving and devoted wife and mother, kind-hearted and thoughtful. She lives in the hearts of those she touched and knew.

She leaves behind her husband of 47 years, Jose R. Herrera, Jr. As a wife and friend, Vira set the standard for how it is done. Being an unveiled wife is about confronting and crushing your fears; believing in truth more than doubt, worry or lies, and finding your security in God alone. She did just that. Fighting by her side and believing in her was one man. “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the LORD.” Her children, Joe Michael and Wife Crystal, daughter Michelle, and son Alex with wife Sara love her and will miss her. To describe her as a mother would be to write about a hurricane and its power; or the climbing, falling colors of a rainbow. We were all born of love, love is our mother. Twelve grandchildren, Joe Michael, Daisy, Albert, Mya, April, Martin, Andrew, Bella, Elijah, Eca, Katelyn, Aubrey and two great-grandchildren, Xavier and Luca will miss her. Grandmothers are voices of the past and role models of the present. Grandmothers open the doors to the future. As the reading goes, “Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them”. A grandmother's love lasts forever. Her siblings, three sisters, Christina Villarreal, Pearl Noone, Star Gomez and a brother, Alex Gutierrez, will grieve for their sister. A sister makes the best friend in the world, more precious than rubies. As all things could not be compared to her. The laughs, the tears; through it all she would always do her very best to be there for her sisters and beloved brother. A truly one-of-a-kind woman with a heart big enough for each one of them. Nine nieces and nephews, Gilbert, Ismael, Angel, Jesse Lynn, Teresa, Joshua, Emma, Daniel, and Breanna, will also miss her. As an aunt, she brought joy and laughter to all her nieces and nephews. Filling the room with such love and positivity. She has a blend of a mother and a sister; advice, friendship, patience, and most of all love.
