Enrique Alvarez, born on July 15, 1936, departed this world just a few days before his ninetieth birthday, on July 10, 2026. For nearly a century, Enrique filled the lives of his family and friends with laughter, love, and an unforgettable sense of joy.

Everyone who knew Enrique remembers his vibrant spirit and the gleam in his eye when he recalled his favorite memories. He was a master jokester, quick with a quip or a gentle tease to lighten any mood. His love of fun was matched by his love for others; Enrique was always willing to lend a helping hand, giving selflessly and generously to those around him.

The ocean called Enrique’s soul. He cherished its limitless horizon and took delight in spending quiet moments with its rolling waves. Cruising along the coast—sometimes in the company of friends, oftentimes with family, and always with his signature low rider style—brought him immense happiness. He didn’t just enjoy the culture of low-riders, he embraced it, dressing the part and living it with pride and authenticity.

Simple pleasures defined some of Enrique’s most cherished routines. A city biscuit paired with a warm cup of coffee provided comfort and connection—a symbol of the small joys he found in daily life. And, on countless joyful occasions, he could be found at the bingo hall, reveling in the thrill of the game and the companionship of friends.

Enrique’s heart was centered around his family. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Frances Miranda, and by the light of his life—his grandchildren, Floyd Mendoza, Elizabeth Mendoza, Vanessa Naranjo, Ricardo Garcia, Geraldo Uribe, and Veronica Garcia. He is also survived by his old lady, Alicia Ortiz, whose love and companionship were a cherished part of his life. His beloved sisters, Frances Gonzalez and Eva Livas, also carry forward his memory. Though his beloved daughter Josefina Carranza has gone before him, the legacy of love Enrique built remains strong and unbroken among those who survive him.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Enrique’s remarkable life at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St, Corpus Christi, TX 78405. Visitation will be held on July 18 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Holy Rosary at 6:00 PM. A second visitation will take place on July 19 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, immediately followed by a chapel service at 11:00 AM. Services will conclude that afternoon.

Though Enrique Alvarez has left our sight, he forever remains in our hearts—a testament to a life well-lived, a spirit that will never fade, and love that endures across generations.
