Ernest A. Pruneda

Ernest Aguilar Pruneda, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2024, at the age of 67 in Corpus Christi, TX. Born on July 21, 1957, in Robstown, TX, Ernest's journey was one marked by dedication, joy, and an unwavering love for his family and country. Ernest's early years in Robstown were filled with the warmth of a tight-knit community and the loving guidance of his parents, Ramon Avila Pruneda and Maria Elsa Aguilar. Although they preceded him in death, along with his brother Edward Pruneda, the values they instilled in him remained a guiding force throughout his life. A proud veteran, Ernest served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Marine Corps. His time in the military was a testament to his strength, discipline, and commitment to the principles of duty and service. After his military career, Ernest continued to make a positive impact in his professional life, upholding the same values of dedication and integrity. Ernest's heart was always fullest when he was surrounded by his beloved family. He is survived by his devoted wife of many years, Patricia Pruneda, and their son, Ernest Ryan Pruneda. His sisters, Esther Posas and Lilly Torres, and brothers, Ronny and Raul Pruneda, will remember him as a protective and caring sibling. His many nieces, nephews, and extended family members will miss his guidance, humor, and the unconditional love he so freely gave. Beyond his commitment to family and country, Ernest was an avid sports enthusiast. He had an enduring love for baseball and could often be found cheering on his favorite teams, the Houston Astros and the Texans. His collection of baseball cards was more than a hobby; it reflected his passion for the game and its history. Ernest's enthusiasm for the sport was infectious, and he enjoyed sharing this love with his friends and family, often engaging in lively discussions about the latest game or a prized addition to his collection. As we bid farewell to Ernest Aguilar Pruneda, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His memory will continue to inspire and comfort us, and the stories of his life will be told with pride and affection by all who were fortunate enough to know him. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Ernest will be deeply missed, but the warmth of his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
