Ernestina Garza Ruiz, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on July 31, 1937, Ernestina was a woman of warmth and compassion, known for her nurturing spirit and her dedication to her family.

Ernestina was not only a devoted mother to her children, Carlos Cesar Ruiz and Santos Imelda Ruiz, but she also took immense pride in her role as a grandmother. Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter, each of whom brought joy and purpose to her life.

A woman of many talents, Ernestina found joy in gardening, cooking, and thrifting. She embraced the simple pleasures of life, often found tending to her plants or preparing festive meals for her loved ones. Her home was always filled with the aroma of delicious food and the laughter of family, a testament to her nurturing nature and love of bringing people together.

Ernestina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carlos Ruiz, whose presence is dearly missed. The bond they shared epitomized the essence of true companionship and love, leaving a lasting imprint on everyone who knew them.

Her visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St., from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a Holy Rosary and Liturgy of the Word to begin at 12:00 PM. Services will conclude that afternoon.

Ernestina Ruiz’s spirit will continue to resonate through the love she cultivated among her family and friends, a legacy that will endure in their hearts forever.
