Estanislado "Stan" De La Cruz

Estanislado “Stan” De La Cruz passed away on November 6, 2020 at the age of 92.  He proudly served his country as a Sgt. in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  Stan was well known as a local Rio Grande Valley celebrity as a host of three television programs during the 1950’s and 1960’s.  He was a wonderful musician and played the drums during the big band era; he also went into country music and sat in with a few country music stars that toured South Texas.  Stan was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend and will be deeply missed by all whom knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Martina De la Cruz, and parents, Estanislao and Jovita De La Cruz.

Among those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Robert (Isabel) De La Cruz and Rene “Moonie” (Reidy) De La Cruz; sister, Jovita Garcia; grandchildren, Hannah (Curtis Brandon Sprague) De La Cruz and Zach De La Cruz; great-grandchildren, Zoe, Ava, and Thorin Sprague; and numerous nephews, nieces, and extended family.
