Esther M. Villegas

Esther Moreno Villegas, age 75, was called home on Saturday, March 4, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Esther was born in Dilley, TX on October 3, 1941 to her parents, Antonio and Dolores Moreno Sr. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, wife, grandmother, aunt, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting with them. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed gardening. She was a dedicated worker in many fields such as; paraprofessional, bilingual tutor, insurance agent, Avon representative and retail clerk. She retired from JC Penney and later volunteered at Christus Spohn Hospital in Alice.

Esther is proceeded in death by her parents, Antonio and Dolores Moreno; sister, Anna Moreno; and in-laws; Luis and Anita Villegas.

She is survived by her husband, Reynaldo Villegas Sr. of Alice; brother, Antonio (Rafaela) Moreno of Pearsall, TX; sisters, Linda (Lauriano) Maldonado of Stanton, TX and Nelda Moreno of San Antonio, TX; sons, Reynaldo Villegas Jr. of Alice, Luis (Carmen) Villegas of Alice, and Mike (Loren) Villegas of Sachse, TX; daughter, Anna Villegas of Corpus Christi; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, from 4 to 9 PM at Treviño Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St.; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 PM. Rites of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2:30 PM on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Alice.
