Eva De La Garza

On October 14, 2022, our beloved Eva De La Garza was called home to be with the Lord. Eva was born in San Perlita, Texas on December 16, 1943 and grew up in Raymondville, Texas. She moved to Corpus Christi when she was in her twenties, where she met the love of her life, Ray, and preceded to have three beautiful, loving daughters. She started her career in finance. She had several interesting jobs over the years and worked for City Employees Credit Union & Gulf Coast Federal Credit Union where she retired after many years of service. She lived a long, beautiful life. She was a woman of strong Christian faith, a dear friend to anyone who met her, and a respected coworker to her work family. Eva had a passion for baking. She was always baking cakes and loved every minute of it. She also enjoyed sewing, drawing, cooking, playing sudoku, and going to yard sales. You could always catch her reading her bible & sharing God’s word. She is preceded in death by her mother, Maria De Refugia Muniz, and her loving husband of 51 years, Raymond “Spanky” De La Garza, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie (Andy) Perez, Anna Marie De La Garza, and Jennifer De La Garza; granddaughters, Jacqueline Diaz Deleon and Addyson Perez; and her beloved pets, Bentley and the late Deter. The family would love to thank Enedina Gonzales, Enedelia DeLaGarza, Elva Trevino, Elma DeLaGarza, Ramiro DeLaGarza, and Janie Perez for always checking on Ms. Evie and bringing her sweets, pan de polvo, and her favorite meals. To honor our mothers wishes, the funeral services will be private. We invite you to please celebrate Eva’s memory in your own ways. We know that she will be with us all in spirit.
