Eva Barrera Morales

Eva Barrera Morales, born on December 26, 1939 in San Jose, TX, passed away on January 28, 2019 at the age of 79. She was employed at P & S Hospital as a pediatric charge nurse for over 30 years. Eva enjoyed gardening, painting, baking, and traveling on cruises. She loved her pets and was a big fan of the San Antonio Spurs. Eva was loved by everyone who knew her and will be dearly missed.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Felix and Belia Lopez Barrera; and her in-laws, Mr. & Mrs. Francisco and Sofia Morales.

Eva is survived by her loving husband, Ernesto Morales; son, Miguel A. Morales (Grace); stepson, Ernesto “Ernie” L. Morales (Edna); brother, Eladio Barrera (Rosi); sisters, Viola De La Rosa (†Lucio), Audelia Cano; grandchildren; David Morales, Paris Garcia, Alyssa Morales, Nola Morales, Sasha Morales, and Chelsea Morales; nephews, Adrian De La Rosa (Amy), David De La Rosa, and Rosendo Barrera (Sally); nieces, Patricia “Patty” Cano, Pamela “Pam” Cano, Laura De La Rosa, Sonia Barrera (Tara), and Erica Barrera (Jesse Salazar); and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Serving as Pallbearers, David De La Rosa, Adrian “Ronnie” De La Rosa, Rosendo “Chendo” Barrera, Gilberto Gaitan, Joe “Joey” Gonzalez, Jr., Ruben Morales, and Dino Barrera.

The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Treviño Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St. Alice, TX; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home Thursday, January 31, 2019, at 10:00 AM to San Jose Mission, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Antonio Lopez Cemetery in San Jose, TX.
