Eyvonne Garcia Salazar

Eyvonne Garcia Salazar, age 54, passed into eternal life on June 7, 2015, after a courageous 18 month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Corpus Christi on April 18, 1962, to Baldemar and Christina Garcia. She attended Moody High School where she played the piccolo and the flute and marched with the Moody Trojan Band. She graduated in 1980 and started her family. She adored her children, Esmeralda, Jose-Luis II, Elyssa, Madalenn, and Joshua. Throughout her life, she enjoyed writing poetry, shopping for collectibles, gardening, and cooking. In her later years, she cherished times spent with her five grandsons, Sincere, Jessie, Jose-Luis III, Silas, and Saydren. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her brother, Ronald, and her maternal and paternal grandparents. Eyvonne is survived by her parents; brothers, Baldemar (Gloria), and Roberto (Sandra); sister, Elizabeth Garcia; her children; her grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Simon. The family wishes to give special thanks to Mario Nino, her longtime boyfriend and loving caregiver. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara @ Port, from 3 to 9 pm; with a Rosary to be recited at 7 pm. Rites of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church at 10 am. Cremation will follow.
