Federico “Fede” Ramirez, Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 1, 2025, at the age of 97 in San Antonio, Texas. Born on May 7, 1927, in Orange Grove, Texas, Fede was a man of great character, whose life was a testament to the values of discipline, respect, and honesty.
Fede's journey began as the beloved son of his parents in Orange Grove, where he learned the virtues of hard work and the importance of family. His early years were filled with the vibrant sounds of Tejano and Ranchera music, which remained one of his lifelong passions. He was renowned for being the best dancer at La Villita Dance Hall, where he would gracefully glide across the dance floor, much to the delight of all who watched.
His professional life was characterized by dedication and reliability, as he spent most of his career in the construction and oilfield industries. Fede's work ethic was unmatched; he was always punctual and dependable, a true model of a hardworking individual.
Despite his busy work life, Fede always found time for his other interests. He was an avid boxing enthusiast and found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as family gatherings and barbequing. Above all, Fede was a man of faith, a devoted member of both Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church. His faith was unwavering, and he instilled the importance of trusting in God in his family.
Fede's quiet and calm demeanor was complemented by his strong and firm presence. He was a man who lived by example, teaching his children and those around him the importance of living a life of integrity. His generous, loving, and selfless nature made him a beloved figure within his community and his family.
As a loving brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Fede's family was the center of his universe, his grandchildren were the light of his life, and there was nothing he wouldn't do for them. Christmas was Fede's favorite holiday, as it was a time when he could be surrounded by his loved ones sharing the warmth of family love, sharing jokes, laughing, and making memories.
A humble man, Fede never forgot the sacrifices his parents made to provide for their family. His legacy is one of love, generosity, and kindness. He will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate to have known and loved this outstanding man.
Fede is proceeded in death by his parents, Valentin and Julia Ramirez Sr.; his son, Carlos Ramirez Sr.; his siblings, Rosita Ramirez, Juan Ramirez, Valentin Ramirez Jr., and Nicolas (Manuela) Ramirez; and his brother-in-law Frank Jasso.
