Fidencio M. Ruiz age, 91, peacefully passed away Friday, March 6, 2015 surrounded by his family. He retired as a delivery truck driver for Pearl Brewer Co. after 30 years. He enjoyed playing his harmonica and was a great cook. He planted beautiful gardens and was famous for giving cute nicknames to all of his grandchildren. He was loved very much and will be greatly missed by all of his friends and loved ones. He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Maria Lamar Ruiz; parents, Alberto and Inez Ruiz; son, Fidencio Ruiz Jr.; daughter-in-law, Diamantina Ruiz; sons-in-law, Rene Garcia and Abel Monsevais; great-grandson, Greg Cruz; and great-great granddaughter, Brylee Trejo. He is survived by his daughters: Lydia Monsevais, Viola (Jesse) Gonzalez, Paula (Mauricio) Garza, Diana (Joe) Ramos of Houston, TX; son, Reynaldo Ruiz; sister, Mary Jane Martinez; brother, Manuel Julio Chica; 19 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, March 8, 2015, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, at Trevino Funeral Home Alice, 120 E. Front St; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that evening. Rites of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 9, 2015, at 1:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at New Collins Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Bobby Trevino.
