On Saturday, March 6, 2021, Frances Aguas, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away at the age of 85 surrounded by her family.
Frances was born on March 16, 1935 in Bishop, Texas to the late Sebastian and Dolores Robles and grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas. She graduated from Ray High School and on November 2, 1958, she married the love of her life, Carlos Aguas, and together they raised 12 children.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carlos Aguas; sister, Carmen; brother, Alfonso; and son-in-law, Ben Garcia, III.
Frances is survived by her 12 children, Gina (Marty), Laura (Luis), Carlos (Debbie), Alex (Jeanette), Mary, Martha, Michael (Michelle), Rene (Bertha), Dolores (the late Ben), Mark (Liz), Christina (Prakash), and Jorge (Maria); 35 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Joaquin Robles, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends that were considered family.
Frances was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church for over 55 years. She was involved in several organizations including the Catholic Daughters, the Carmelites (in which she was a founding member), and she also served as a Eucharistic minister. She was a master in the kitchen and will be remembered for her Sunday lunches after church and decadent chocolate cake. She had an amazing sense of humor, quick wit, and at times, brutal honesty. But, at her home, you were always greeted with a welcoming smile and a hot cup of (instant) coffee or an ice-cold Diet Coke.
She battled Alzheimer’s disease for over 12 years and fought until the end. The disease may have taken her memory, but it will never take away our memories with her. She dedicated her life to her family and her family repaid her by providing her with the best care in her own home until the end. There is no more pain or suffering for her on this Earth; she is now resting in paradise.
The family will receive condolences on Thursday, March 11, 2021, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3423 Rojo St.; with a rosary to be recited 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 12, 2021, at Christ the King Catholic Church. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Face masks must be worn, and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
