Francisca
Salas Rodriguez
May 14, 1935 — Jun 26, 2026
Francisca S. Rodriguez, 91, ascended into her heavenly home on June 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Mom is in God’s loving arms now and is reunited with her family in God’s Kingdom. We thank our Lord and Savior for every day that we were blessed with her presence.
Mom was born on May 14, 1935, in Falfurrias, TX, to Florentino and Francisca Salas and was the youngest of 12 children.
Widowed at a very young age, Mom went to work, raised her children and always made sure she had breakfast for us before walking to the bus stop for work. Dinner was always ready after we got out of school. Mom’s famous potato and egg tacos were always requested by her kids and grandkids. Even her great grandkids asked for those delicious tacos. It must have been the magic in her hands that made those tacos so tasty.
Mom was the very epitome of a strong, brave, and courageous woman. Her doors were always open to family and friends alike and she always offered a helping hand. No one ever left her home hungry. Lucky were the ones that sat at her table and partook of her homemade cooking and drank a cup of coffee. Mom loved her coffee!
Mom’s family is large and diverse; and to Mom, you are always a “Salas”. Her happiest times were when all her kids and grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids visited her. She loved her family so much!
Mom was also a woman of strong and deep faith. She always prayed for all of us and believed with all her heart that God heard all her prayers and had his loving arms around us all.
Thank you, Mom, for always loving us all and praying for us.
Mom is now reunited in heaven with her husband, Amador Rodriguez, Sr.; her beloved sons, Mario H. Rodriguez and Arnoldo Rodriguez Sr; her very special grandson, Ray Vela; parents, Florentino and Francisca Salas; brothers, Silvestre, Florentino, Luis, Gavino, Miguel, and Porfirio Salas; and sisters, Celestina Gonzalez, Maria Mendoza, Herminia Nevarez, and Hipolita Garcia.
Mom has left behind a large and loving family that misses her so much and feel her loss deeply. She leaves behind her children, Velma (Jesse) Mendoza, Roxanne (Ester Guzman) Valerio, and Roberto Rodriguez; grandchildren, Jesse Albert Mendoza, Jessica Vela, Jesse Rey (Krystal) Mendoza, Crystal (Jon) Botello, Cynthia (Laura Cervantes) Rodriguez, Arnold (Kim) Rodriguez, Jr., Vanessa (Hector) Aguilar, Roland Valerio, and Laura (Javier) Flores; her last surviving sibling, her sister, Martina Vasquez; 24 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews that always kept in touch with her.
A very special thank you and heartfelt gratitude to Roxanne Valerio for always being there for our mom. She always looked forward to your phone calls and knew how much you loved her.
Thank you to Mom‘s nieces for always calling and visiting her, taking food and coffee to her, and sharing a meal at her table. Thank you for being with us during this very difficult time.
Laura and Vanessa, thank you so much for your care and your love for Mom. Your love for your grandma means so much and is felt in our hearts.
Jessica, thank you for being with your grandma (your mommy) every day. For loving and caring for Mom and your devotion to Mom.
Cindy, who Mom lovingly referred to as, “My Cinderella”, thank you for also being with Mom and for caring for your grandma and loving her so much.
All of you showed deep love and devotion to Mom and she was aware of your devotion and felt your love.
We are heartbroken but thankful for Mom‘s long life and we know she is at peace now. We love you, Mom. We love you so much.
