Gene Prado

Gene Prado, a devoted family man and respected member of the Corpus Christi community, passed away on September 22, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on February 24, 1942, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Gene lived a life full of passion and dedication, leaving a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Gene proudly served his country in the United States Army, a commitment that reflected his strong sense of duty and service. His experiences during this time shaped his character and instilled in him the values of perseverance and integrity, which he carried throughout his life.

A man of varied interests, Gene enjoyed dining out and shopping, finding joy in sharing meals with loved ones and discovering new places. He had a lifelong love for writing and was particularly fascinated by numbers, finding great satisfaction in math. His intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for learning were evident in all his endeavors.

Gene is survived by his loving wife, Carmen R. Prado; alongside his five daughters and one son. He radiated warmth and kindness, creating lasting memories that will resonate through the lives of those who knew him.

Gene's passing leaves behind not only his immediate family but also numerous friends and extended family members who will remember him fondly. His warm demeanor, quick wit, and inviting personality made him a cherished companion to many.

Gene Prado's legacy lives on through the love he shared and the memories he created with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Gene’s family will receive condolences on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St., from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church at 12:00 PM. Rite of Committal and Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
