Gilbert Cantera

Gilbert Cantera, age 56, of Corpus Christi, Texas went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. He was born on October 20, 1965, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Luz Elida Gonzalez Cantera and Magdaleno Cantera.

Gilbert was a 1986 graduate of Roy Miller High School. He went on to work alongside his brother, Cruz, in the tile business and started his own business naming it Gilbert’s Lawn, Power Wash, & More. Gilbert also worked at Ruiz Tortilla Company.

Like his mother, Gilbert loved cats and had a passion for baking treats. He will always be remembered for being compassionate and caring to those he loved. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Gilbert is preceded in death by his mother, Luz Elida Gonzalez Cantera; father, Magdaleno Cantera; aunt, Rebecca Gonzalez; and niece, Jennifer Nicole Cruz.

Gilbert is survived by his siblings, Ismael (Josie) Cantera, Christine C. (Arturo) Navarro, Cruz Cantera, and Rachel Palos; as well as, numerous great- cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will hold a Memorial Celebration of Life at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Solid Rock Church, Yorktown campus, 4922 Yorktown Blvd, Corpus Christi, TX 78413, led by Pastor Steve Coronado Sr.
