Gilbert Martinez, 70 of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on March 24, 2022.

He was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 30, 1951.  Gilbert worked as a Texas State Game Warden and while a Game Warden, he participated in providing fishing opportunities to many individuals along with Kid Fish organization.

He was married to Delia Martinez on May 18, 1991, and had two children, Gilbert Martinez II and Olivia Martinez.  During his spare time, Gilbert was also a 4th degree Knight for the Knights of Columbus in Corpus Christi and in Houston.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ingrid Ana Katrina Henrietta Brumbauer Martinez; his father, Victor Salazar Martinez, his brother, Victor Johan Martinez; his nephew, John James Martinez; his brother-in-law, James McKaughan; and his loving niece, Sarah Lynn Martinez.

He is survived by his wife Delia Martinez; their children, Gilbert Martinez II (Jazmyn) and Olivia Martinez; his children, Tara Lynn Olvera (Erick) and Bradley Martinez (Olivia); his grandchildren, Raelynn, Elliana, Megan, Mathew, Margaret, Erick, Christian, Kincaid, and Cassidy; his great-grandchildren, Karissa and Christopher; his brother, Manuel Anthony Martinez; and his sister, Virginia Elfriede McKaughan.

Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara @ Port Ave. A Memorial Rosary will be recited at 3:00 PM followed by Liturgy of The Word at 3:30 PM. Services will conclude in the chapel that same day.
