Obituary

Gloria L. Guajardo, age 94, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025. Gloria was born on June 5, 1931, to Luis and Rosa Lozano in Laredo, Texas. Gloria graduated from Martin High School in Laredo, Texas. In her younger years, Gloria was socially involved in her community in Laredo and was active in the Catholic Church. Gloria was faithful to her Catholic religion.

Graceful and stylish, she modeled for Hachar’s and Joe Brand, two well-known exclusive clothing stores in Laredo. She attended Laredo College before beginning her banking career as a teller with Laredo National Bank. Gloria married her true love, husband Roberto Guajardo of 66 years, on June 5, 1955, in Laredo, Texas, and soon after moved to Corpus Christi, Texas. She began her banking career as a teller at Mercantile Bank while she raised a family with her husband Roberto. She worked for several banks in Corpus Christi. Her last position was overseeing the Safe Deposit Department for Citizens State Bank where she retired in the late 1980’s. Gloria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a great friend.

Gloria was very generous and loved assisting others in need. If you met her, you met a lifelong friend. She was a people magnet and loved by many. She had a beautiful smile and a big heart. She loved shopping with her daughter, Rose. She loved going to the movies, music, and dancing. Gloria and her husband stayed active and often attended social events together. She loved the color yellow, gardening, tending to her plants, and collecting butterflies. During her retirement years, her #1 activity was taking care of her only two grandchildren, Joseph and Justin. She attended their school activities and sporting events. She enjoyed cooking for her grandsons and taking them out to eat with grandpa. She enjoyed her “gambling excursions” to Coushatta and Las Vegas with her husband.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Rosa Lozano; husband, Roberto Guajardo; sisters, Minerva Salazar and Alma Paredes; and a son, Jose Guajardo, who passed away shortly after birth.

Left to cherish her loving memories are her daughter, Rose Mireles (Gil); son, Roberto Jr. (Norma); two grandsons, Joseph and Justin Mireles; her sister, Imelda (Frank) Allred; brother, Jose Luis Lozano; and other relatives and friends.
