Obituary

Gregory Todd Gray, known affectionately as Greg, passed away on Tuesday, May 26th, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on November 17th, 1962, in Roswell, New Mexico, Greg was the cherished son of Charles and Nan Gray. He spent his formative years growing up in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he graduated from Richard King High School.

Greg was a dedicated and industrious man, committing two decades of his career to Mission Restaurant Supply before retiring in 2023. His work ethic was matched by a lively spirit and a warm heart, which endeared him to family and friends alike.

He found tremendous joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid fisherman and hunting enthusiast, Greg loved spending time hunting dove and quail. He was also a passionate fan of the Dallas Cowboys, often delightedly watching their games. Yet, perhaps his greatest happiness came from blasting music in the backyard and singing with his family, creating memories filled with love and laughter.

Gregory is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Penny Gray, who stood as his steadfast companion. He is also survived by his daughters, Hannah Gray of Corpus Christi, Texas; Stephanie Johnston and her husband Ricky of Corpus Christi, Texas; and Brittany Johnston and her husband Elzer of San Antonio, Texas. His brothers, Scott Gray and wife Terry of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Ricky Gray and wife Nelda of Dallas, Texas, also carry forward his memory. Proud grandfather to Atreyu Johnston, Parker Colston, Elzer Cook III, Landon Colston, Lavender Johnston, and Adeline Colston, Greg’s legacy continues warmly through them. Additionally, he is survived by his nephews Jason Gray and wife Nicole, and Jeremy Gray and wife LeeAnne.

Gregory was preceded in death by his beloved father, Charles Robert Gray; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Dorothy Gibson; and his grandmother, Sissy Jones.

Greg Gray’s life was one marked by steadfast dedication, heartfelt joy, and a deep connection to those he loved. He will be remembered with great respect and affection by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His spirit endures in the hearts of his family and friends, bound forever by the shared memories and love he so generously gave.
