Guadalupe V. Gonzalez passed away on June 11, 2026, after a full life marked by hard work, devotion, and kindness. Born on December 12, 1931, Guadalupe dedicated his life to honest labor, working as a truck driver and in the oil fields until his retirement. His commitment to his work was matched only by his deep love for his family and community.
Guadalupe was a man whose heart was as vast as the fields he worked in. A passionate gardener, he found joy and peace nurturing life from the soil. His faith was a cornerstone of his existence; heavily involved in his church, he was a beacon of spiritual strength and guidance for those around him. Living in a neighborhood surrounded by peers, Guadalupe became the reliable heart of the community, selflessly ensuring that his friends and neighbors made it safely to their appointments. Known as the best neighbor and friend, his generosity knew no bounds.
Above all, Guadalupe cherished his family deeply. He is survived by his devoted children, Diana Quintero (Willie), Delvia Gonzalez (Gilbert Treviño III), Dalia Maldonado, Rolando Gonzalez (Mary), Roel Gonzalez, and Guadalupe Gonzalez Jr. A beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Guadalupe V. Gonzalez's legacy flourishes through his grandchildren, Sam Villa, Felicia Longoria, Roy Gonzalez, Arty Maldonado, Randy Gonzalez, Willie Arceo, Roman Gonzalez, Raziel Gonzalez, Randy Gonzalez, Benjamin Arceo, David Gonzalez, and Daniel Gonzalez; and 10 great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his siblings, Andres Gonzalez, Angelina Rodriguez, and Rafael Gonzalez, as well as an extended circle of family who held him dear.
Guadalupe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alicia Gonzalez. Married for 68 years, they shared a lifetime of love, devotion, and cherished memories. Their family finds comfort in knowing they are now reunited once again. He is also preceded in death by his parents, Fernando and Nicolasa Gonzalez; and his siblings, Eugenio Gonzalez, Refugia Rivera, Fernanda Cavazos, Cecilio Gonzalez, Salvador Gonzalez, Oralia Lopez, and Paula Smith.
A faithful companion through many years was his beloved dog, Lucky, who has gone before him and now waits patiently at the gates, a testament to their unbreakable bond.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Yadira Ochoa, Guadalupe’s caregiver, whose unwavering dedication and kindness went above and beyond, providing comfort and care that were truly a blessing.
Guadalupe V. Gonzalez’s life was a testimony to kindness, hard work, faith, and family. He leaves behind a community richer for having known him, a family strengthened by his love, and memories that will forever inspire those who were lucky enough to call him theirs. His gentle spirit and unwavering devotion will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
