With profound sadness and deep love, we honor and remember the life of Guillermo “Billy” Perez Sr., who departed from this world on August 12, 2026. Born on November 5, 1962, Guillermo’s journey was one marked by a warm heart, a generous spirit, and an unwavering devotion to his family and friends.

Billy’s life was a beautiful testament to the power of togetherness. At every turn, he treasured the time spent surrounded by the people he loved. Family gatherings were his delight, occasions filled with laughter, stories, and the aroma of his legendary barbeque. His beef ribs were second to none, each meal lovingly crafted and shared with those lucky enough to gather at his table. Whether preparing food for a crowd or fishing in peaceful solitude, Billy brought presence and joy into each moment.

He found happiness in the simple pleasures: the contentment of mowing the yard astride his beloved tractor, the peace found sitting on the patio as Spanish music drifted through the air, and the distinct pleasure of banana pudding made specially for him by his granddaughter Jalyne. To know Billy was to recognize a man who wrung happiness from every opportunity, rooted always in love for his family. A true Dallas Cowboys fan, he cheered with his whole heart, bringing everyone along for the excitement and camaraderie.

Billy leaves behind his beloved wife of 35 years, May Perez, a steadfast companion through every up and down. His legacy lives on in his children, John (Vero) Ramos, Rey Ramos, Billy Jr., and Valerie. To his grandchildren, John "JJ", Jalyne, Lil Bill, Jacob, Diana, Raeanna, and Reyisaac; and his great-grandchildren, Riley, Maddy Mae, Hailey Rae, John J., and Amethyst—he was a source of pride, guidance, and boundless affection.

Billy’s family tree extends even further, enriched by the love and support of his extended relatives. He is survived by his special niece, Jessica Madrigal, who never left his side; siblings, Mario (Linda) Perez, Chano Madrigal, Gonzalo "Pio" (Monica) Perez, Luis (Mera) Ybarra, Ricky, Roland, and Yolanda; his brother and sister-in law, Juan Jr. and Linda Madrigal, each sharing special moments and cherished connections with him. Special appreciation is given to Gonzalo “Pio” and Monica Perez, who stood by him tirelessly, as well as Fernando and Carmel Laurel, whose support and friendship brought comfort along his journey. The family would also like to extend thanks to the Harbor Hospice care staff for their attentive care during Billy’s final days.

Billy is reunited in peace with loved ones who went before him, his father and mother-in-law, Juan Sr and Jesusa Madrigal; his father, Antonio Sr.; his mother Maria Perez; and others dear to his heart, Jaime, Rudy, Connie, Gracie, and Antonio Jr. Though absent from sight, their memories and bonds endure in the hearts of those who remain.

Guillermo “Billy” Perez Sr. will forever be remembered for his warmth, selflessness, and the unity he inspired. In gratitude, the family extends heartfelt thanks to all who have remained close during seasons of both celebration and challenge.

Billy’s family will receive condolences on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM; with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 11:15 AM on Friday, August 21, 2026, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church at 11:45 AM. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park where Billy will be laid to rest.
