Guillermo Tober, Jr., a cherished family man and respected community member, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2024, in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of 83. Born on April 5, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas, Guillermo's life was a testament to the values of love, kindness, and selflessness that he embodied every day. Guillermo proudly served his country for four years in the Army, a period of his life that instilled in him a sense of discipline and commitment that he carried into all his endeavors. After his military service, he returned to his beloved Texas. He is remembered with great fondness by his children, Guadalupe Lopez (Martin), Willie Tober, Jr. (Annette), Joe Tober (Erma), and Celia Vasquez (Robert), who were the center of his world. Guillermo's legacy also lives on through his stepchildren, Alfredo Garcia, Aurora Garcia, Jimmy Garcia, Johnny Salinas, Robert Garcia, and Gabriel Vega, whom he embraced as his own. His love extended to his 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Guillermo was preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Willie Tober, Sr., and his siblings, Lela Lopez, Ben Tober, Joe Tober, Frank Tober, and Israel Tober. He also bore the loss of his stepchildren, Lauro Garcia and Nicolas Garcia, with great fortitude and grace. An avid fisherman, Guillermo found joy and tranquility by the water, a pastime that he often shared with his family. His love for the outdoors was also evident in his fondness for walks, a simple pleasure that allowed him to connect with nature and his thoughts. But perhaps the most cherished moments were those spent with his grandson, where his gentle guidance and warm laughter created memories that will be treasured forever. Guillermo's presence was a source of comfort and strength to all who knew him. His loving nature was the cornerstone of his family, and his kind and selfless actions touched the lives of many. He approached life with a quiet dignity and a gentle smile that could light up a room, leaving a lasting impression on the hearts of those he encountered. As we bid farewell to Guillermo Tober, Jr., we celebrate a life lived with purpose and love. His spirit will continue to inspire us, and his memory will be a beacon of the values he held dear. We take solace in knowing that his legacy will endure through the lives of his family and the countless memories shared with friends and loved ones.
