Gumecindo "Pete"Garza, Jr.TXGumecindo "Pete" Garza, Jr. was born in Falfurrias, TX on July 13, 1947. He suffered multiple strokes; he left this world in peace to be with our lord and savior on June 21, 2018. He worked for Budweiser, Interstate Batteries, and retired from Republic Services. He was a very hard worker and a great provider. He loved to tell jokes, laugh, and spend time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gumecindo Garza, Sr. and Librada Perez Garza; sisters, Sylvia Cisneros and Adelina Ybarra; brother, Reynaldo Garza. Gumecindo is survived by his wife of 43 years, Maria Esther Garza; sons, Joe Merced (Maria) Garza and Eric Garza; daughter, Melissa (Gilbert) Reyes; six grandchildren, Jylissa Reyes, Gilbert Reyes, Jr., Alyssa Reyes, Richard Martinez, Joseph Garza, and Anyssa Garza; sisters, Grace (Frank) Torres from Victoria, TX., Yolando (Diego) Herrera, and Rosalinda Leal; numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive condolences on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. at Port; with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Lord of the Harvest Church, 7333 McArdle Rd., on Friday, June 29, 2018. Rite of Committal and Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. We would to thank Dr. Campbell, Dr. Pennington, our Pastors, Isaias and Joyce Sanchez, and his best friends, Mr. and Mrs. Chano & Lillian Cavazos, his former employer Republic Services, and Timothy "Sugar Bear" Trevino.
