Henry Reta Jr., age 88, passed away on May 25, 2026. Henry was born on August 9, 1937, in Corpus Christi to Enrique Reta Sr. and Carmen Espino Reta. Henry attended parochial and public schools, graduating from Miller High School. Henry was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Germany. He retired from Braley’s Motor and Armature Works where he worked as a motor rewinder for over 30 years.

Henry is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, George Reta; and his grandparents, Salvador and Soledad Almaguer.

He is survived by his children, Teri Alaniz (Eva), Martin Reta (Jackie), and Carlos Reta; 10 grandchildren, Crystal, Cristy, Martin Jr. Laura, Lorana, Nikko, Mercedes, Logan, Greyson, and Mia Rose; 14 great- grandchildren; siblings, Josie, Angie, Evangeline Miller (Frank), Jesse Reta, and Luis Reta; his former wife, Lucy Reta; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Henry’s family will receive condolences on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM; with recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 PM. On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, a funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 8:30 AM to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery where Henry will be laid to rest in the Peace of Christ.
