Herminia V. Garcia

On February 13th, 2016 at age 89, Herminia "Minnie" V. Garcia, a special angel, went to heaven. She was born on February 8, 1927 in Bess, Texas to Felix and Crisanta Garcia. She passed away at the Meridian Care Home in Alice, Texas. Minnie lived in San Antonio, Texas most of her life with her sister, Adelfa, and brother-in-law, Ernesto, and her niece, Patricia. Minnie worked at the Nix Hospital and Methodist Hospital as an LVN in San Antonio, Texas for more than 40 years. She loved studying and reading the Bible and going to church. She also loved to travel with her family and looking after her family. She was a very loving and caring person. She was always peaceful and happy; always with a smile on her face. Herminia was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Crisanta Garcia; her brothers: Carlos, Felipe, and Adolfo Garcia; her sisters: Albesa Garcia, Adela Peña, Irene Navejar, and Adelfa Sepulveda. Herminia is survived by one sister, Idolina Silos from Houston, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Raynaldo and Dalia Perez and family for being loving caregivers for the last seven years of her life. The family would also like to thank the Meridian Care Home staff for providing care for her. A very special thank you to a very special nurse, Janie Ramirez, for always being there for our family. The family will be receiving friends at Treviño Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St., Alice, Texas, on Monday, February 15, 2016, from 4 to 9 PM; with a Prayer Service to begin at 7 PM that evening. A Chapel Service will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at Treviño Funeral Home Alice, at 10 AM. Interment will follow at La Parrita-Alegria Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Bobby Treviño.
