Herminia "Minnie" Soliz

Herminia “Minnie” Soliz passed away peacefully on September 7, 2021, at the age of 80.

Minnie was an extraordinary daughter, aunt, cousin, mother, and grandmother. She was a beautiful, independent, and strong devoted Catholic. Our mother brightened every room she entered and never met a stranger. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and traveling. One of her most memorable experiences was traveling to the Holy Land with family and friends at 73 years. Our mother was limitless; there was not anything she thought she could not accomplish and often said, “You never know what you are capable of until you try”. She always had something to say, and that is what we'll miss the most.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Valdemar Soliz, Jr.

She is survived by her family, daughters, Sonia Soliz-Morales (John) of Corpus Christi and Monica Dishman (John) of Corpus Christi; sons, Max Soliz (Jessy) of Alabama, Marcus Soliz of Corpus Christi, and Aaron Soliz of San Antonio; brother, Emilio Gomez; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews.

The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara @ Port Ave; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM that evening. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 8:30 AM on Thursday, September 23, 2021, for a Mass of Christian Burial at Christ the King Catholic Church at 9:00 AM. Rite of Interment and Burial will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
