Horacio Gutierrez

Horacio "Lacho" Gutierrez, age 91, passed away on April 25, 2014. He was born in Laredo, TX on September 23, 1922. He is preceded in death by his son, Horacio Esteban "Steve" Gutierrez He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Josefina; his four daughters: Graciela (Kenneth) Borchers, Diana Gutierrez, Sofia (Ernesto) Solis, and Melissa (Chris) Ort; four grandchildren: Wendy, Rene, Bryan, and Olivia; and three great-grandchildren: Zachary, Rene, and Paolo. Horacio had many friends here in Corpus Christi. He retired from Civil Service at the Naval Air Station in 1985. He and his wife enjoyed many trips to Louisiana casinos, where he won a Harley. The family would like to thank everyone at hospice that took care of Horacio; Darlene Starry, Heather, Kevin, and Edna. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Pals Animal Shelter, 1101 Navigation Blvd., Corpus Christi, TX 78407. A mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 10 am; burial will follow at Coastal Bend Veterans State Cemetery.
