Horacio V. Quiroga

Horacio V. Quiroga of Corpus Christi, Texas, born in Paras, N.L. Mexico, passed away on February 14, 2023, at the age of 78. He will be dearly missed by the ones who knew and loved him.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant from 1965 to 1967.  He later received an Auto Mechanic degree at Del Mar College and taught Auto Mechanic classes at Del Mar College from 1977 to 1978.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and all sports. He owned and worked as an auto mechanic at Quiroga’s Garage with his father and his brother.

Horacio is preceded in death by his parents, Serafin and Maria Quiroga, and his brother, Hector Quiroga, Sr.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Gloria C. Quiroga; children, Esmeralda Aguilar (Alejandro), Horacio Quiroga, Jr. (Courtney), Sylvia Cuellar, Jr. (Rafael), and David Quiroga (Jessica); grandkids, Kyle, Victoria, Gilbert, Olivea, Kaylanie, and Kacey; siblings, Serafin Quiroga Jr. (Olga) and Rogelio Quiroga (Jennie); and 11 nieces and nephews.

The family will receive condolences on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara @ Port Ave. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 11:30 AM followed by Liturgy of the Word at 12:00 PM. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 12:30 PM for Rite of Committal and Interment at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
