Hortencia Muldrow

Hortencia Muldrow, age 84, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on March 8, 2025.

Hortencia spent a good portion of her life helping others. Whether she was advocating for children or helping those in need, her greatest passion was feeding people. Most memories of her revolve around her cooking. She was also an avid businesswoman who enjoyed buying and selling collectibles.

Hortencia was married to James A. Muldrow, who passed just ten days later. She is survived by two daughters, Debra (Danny) Roberts and Diana (Jeff) Gross; three grandchildren, Caleb, Caitlyn, and Addison; and four siblings, Florinda (Dwayne) Benson, Dale (Herminia) Zavala, Alfredo (Alicia) Zavala, and Fela (Michael) Brogan.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus Zavala and Felipa Zavala; and her siblings, Leonor (Trinidad) Luna, Guadalupe (Leonides) Zavala, Arturo (Paulita) Zavala, Manuel (Maria Magdalena) Zavala, and Jesse Zavala.

A Graveside Service honoring Hortencia Muldrow will be held on April 3, 2025, at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, at 11:00 AM.
