Ignacia R. Rivera

Ignacia Reyes Rivera of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on November 27, 2022, at the age of 93. She was a virtuous, giving, selfless, loving, hardworking, and caring person who will be dearly missed.

At a young age, she started working at a packing company in Brownsville, Texas. After that she and her husband, Melecio Rivera, started working in the fields picking cotton or vegetables in the valley. They finally settled in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Ignacia enjoyed listening to Spanish music and having all her sons play instruments at home; she and her husband would sing along. She also enjoyed when someone would cook barbeque for her and looked forward to those moments. Ignacia was a very giving woman and always saved her money so she could help her children and grandchildren; she never wanted them to go without.

Ignacia is preceded in death by her daughter, Silvia R. Moreno, and her husband, Melecio G. Rivera.

Left behind to cherish Ignacia’s memories are four sons, four daughters, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara @Port Ave, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 12:00 PM. Services will conclude that day.
