Irma Gonzalez Rivera

Another angel has earned her wings, Irma Gonzalez Rivera, on October 28, 2016, at the age of 60. Irma was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was born to Martina and Santos Gonzalez on March 25, 1956. Irma touched the lives of many people with her smile, big heart, and trademark sense of humor. She never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Santos and Martina Gonzalez; two brothers Santos Gonzalez and Manuel (Meme) Gonzalez; one sister, Concepcion (Concha) Pena; her father- in-law Wilfredo (Willie) Rivera Sr.; two brothers-in-law, Joe Gaza and Michael Rivera.

She is survived by the love of her life, best friend, and loving husband, Gilbert R. Rivera Sr.; one son, Gilbert (Minnie) Rivera; two daughters, Monica Rivera and Andrea Martinez; a nephew/son, Danny (Samantha) Gaza; two brothers, Pedro (Senaida) Gonzalez and Ramon (Margie) Gonzalez; two sisters, Elma (Camilo) Gaza and Reyna (Geyel) Valenzuela; mother-in-law, Francisca Rivera; brothers-in-law, Nativida Pena, Roger (Annette) Rivera; Willie Rivera Jr.; sisters-in-law, Yolanda (Ernest) Villarreal, Noemi (Jaime) Lopez, Norma (Jeff) Koricanek, and Lillie Rivera; her beloved grandchildren; Michael (Kayla) Deanda, Wesley Rivera-Perez, Pablo Rivera, Nicholas Rivera, Ivan Rivera, Jaslene Martina Rivera-Garcia, Christopher Gaza, Mathew Gaza, Makayla Lopez, Meriah Lopez, Myleigh Gonzalez, and Hurley Gaza; three great-grandchildren, Ember, Trustan, and Olivia; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends; Debbie Puentes, Gennifer Vickers, Jillian Morris, and Haley Morris.

The family will be receiving friends on, Wednesday November 2, 2016, from 5pm to 9pm, at Treviño Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St.; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7pm. Rites of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am Thursday, November 3, 2016, at St Johns of the Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove, Texas. Cremation to follow.
