Irma Estella Saavedra

Irma Estella Saavedra, a beloved member of the Corpus Christi community, was born on December 19, 1961, and passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, in the same city she cherished as her home. A warm soul known for her unwavering spirit and kindness, Irma's life was a testament to love and devotion to her family and friends.

Irma is survived by her loving children, Christina Rodriguez and her husband Joshua, Alvito Saavedra and his wife Irma, Reynaldo Saavedra and his wife Veronica, and Arnold Saavedra Jr. and his wife Ruby. She was also a treasured mother-in-law to Mary Ann Torres. Irma took great pride in her role as a grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren, Alyssa Hummer and her husband Jacob, Elijah Rodriguez and his wife Marissa, Alethia Rodriguez, Nehemiah Rodriguez, Alvito Saavedra Jr., Gloria Saavedra, Arturo Saavedra, Kevin Garcia, Isaiah Saavedra, Isaac Saavedra, Eliseo Saavedra, LaylaBell Saavedra, Isael “Japo” Saavedra, and Brealand Quintero. Additionally, she will be fondly remembered by her great-grandchildren, Mateo Hummer, Lillian Zamarron, Aniya Zamarron, and Roman Rodriguez. Her sisters, Angelica Riojas and her husband Joe, Sylvia Gifford and her husband Bobby, and Rebecca Sosa, grieve her passing but celebrate her life.

Irma's passions were diverse, including her love for football Sundays and enjoying family barbecues. She found pleasure in gambling, reading, watching Korean shows, and listening to music, which brought joy and comfort to her life.

Irma was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Reynaldo and Isabel Valdez, her devoted husband, Arnold Saavedra, and her nephew Anthony Valdez. These losses have shaped the family's bond, deepening their connections and honoring the legacy that Irma created throughout her life.

The pallbearers chosen to honor Irma's memory include her grandsons, Eliseo Saavedra, Isael "Japo" Saavedra, Alvito Saavedra Jr., Arturo Saavedra, Kevin Garcia, Isaiah Saavedra, Isaac Saavedra, and Nehemiah Rodriguez, all of whom will carry her spirit forward.

A visitation will be held in her memory on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St, Corpus Christi, TX, where friends and family can gather to honor her life. A Holy Rosary will take place at 7:00 PM the same evening. A Eulogy and Liturgy of the Word will be on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 11:30 AM, followed by interment at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 PM.

Irma Estella Saavedra's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those she touched throughout her life. She will be missed deeply, but her love and spirit will continue to shine through her family and loved ones.
