Isabel "Popo" Barron Martinez, loving father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2023, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Popo was a kind, gentle, and thoughtful man who dedicated his life to his family and the community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleofas and Feliciana Barron and his loving wife, Maria Francisca Barron.
Popo is survived by his six children, Norma Barron, Melissa Cumpian (Juan), Isabel Hernandez (Carlos), Luis Barron (Melissa), Amparo de Jesus, and Baija Barron; his sister, Maria Velasquez; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members who will cherish his memory forever.
Throughout his life, Popo worked as a landscaper, using his green thumb to beautify the city he loved. He took great pride in his work, and his dedication to creating vibrant and welcoming spaces for others to enjoy was evident in every project he undertook. His tireless work ethic and commitment to excellence served as a shining example to all who knew him.
In addition to his love for baseball, Popo was an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending time on the water, casting his line and soaking in the natural beauty of the world around him. His appreciation for the outdoors was a constant source of inspiration and joy for his family. He cherished the time spent fishing with his children and grandchildren, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Above all else, Popo was a devoted family man, always putting the needs of his loved ones before his own. He was a loving and supportive father, a doting grandfather, and a caring brother, always ready with a warm embrace or a kind word. His gentle nature and unwavering love for his family will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive condolences on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara @ Port Ave, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Services will conclude that evening.
