Born on August 26, 1948, in Alice, Texas, Quaker was a beacon of faith, humor, and generosity to all who knew him. Quaker was the beloved son of the late Jose M. and Andrea P. Garcia. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Mari P. Garcia, whose memory he held dear to his heart. He is survived by his siblings, Irma (Julian) Rea, Irene Garcia, and Israel R. (Nohemi) Garcia. He was a loving uncle to his niece, Maricela Rea, and nephew, Orlando (Leah) Rea. His grand-nephews, Jonathan Rea, Tanner (Erica) Namm, Ryan Rea, and David Rea, will forever remember the joy and wisdom he brought into their lives. Quaker's indelible impact extends beyond family, as evidenced by his deep friendship with Maria Basaldua, his caregiver who was more like family, going above and beyond in her duty. Quaker graduated from William Adams High School in his hometown of Alice, Texas. After graduation, he found his passion in the culinary arts, working as a baker and cook. His talent was renowned; his gorditas were known as the most delicious in town, and his bread and pastries were equally delectable. His culinary creations brought joy to many and left a lasting legacy in his community. Beyond his culinary pursuits, Quaker was a man of deep faith and family values. He found comfort and joy in reading his bible and cherished the time spent with his family, especially his niece, nephew, and their children, whom he loved as his own. Family gatherings were a highlight of his life, a testament to his love for those closest to him. Quaker's generosity extended beyond his family and friends to all those he encountered, demonstrating a commitment to kindness and service that defined his character. Quaker was a man who lived his life with an unwavering faith that guided his every action. He was known for his sense of humor, always ready with a joke or a funny story to lighten the mood. His generosity was boundless, and he was always the first to lend a hand to those in need. His presence was a source of comfort and joy to all who knew him, and his memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
