James Clifford Johnson

James Clifford Johnson passed away on September 12, 2024, at the age of 43. Born on January 19, 1981, James lived a life marked by kindness, a passion for mechanics, and a love for the open road.

James is survived by a loving family who will cherish his memory forever. He leaves behind his son, Matthew; his daughter, Madison; and their mother, Samantha Simpkins. His devoted mother, Herminia, and his caring sisters, Thelma and Jamie (Paul), also survive him. James was a beloved uncle to his nephews, Danny and Jesse, and his nieces, Jewel and Emily, as well as a doting great-uncle to Aura Lea.  He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence C. Johnson, whose memory remained a guiding light in his life.

For the majority of his life, James found joy and freedom in his work as a truck driver. The open road was his second home, and he treated every journey as an adventure. James's love for mechanics extended beyond his profession. He was particularly skilled in refurbishing old cars, a hobby that allowed him to breathe new life into classic vehicles. Mustangs held a special place in his heart, and he was known for his impressive knowledge and collection of these timeless automobiles.

James' dedication to his interests led him to become one of the original members of Hero Garage, a community of car enthusiasts who shared his passion for restoration. His contributions to the group were not only in skill but also in spirit, as he was always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh.

Beyond his work and hobbies, James was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was the kind of friend who was always there, offering support without hesitation. His generosity knew no bounds, and his presence brought comfort and joy to those around him. James's ability to connect with people and to truly listen and offer his help, made him a pillar in his community.

James will be forever missed not only for the love he gave, but also for the strength of his character. He was a man who lived with integrity, treated others with respect, and faced life's challenges with courage. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his children, who will carry forward the lessons he taught through his actions and the love he shared.

As we say goodbye to James Clifford Johnson, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with purpose, joy, and an abundance of love. His memory will continue to be a guiding light for all who were fortunate enough to know him. James' journey on the open road may have come to an end, but the paths he traveled and the lives he touched will forever be a testament to his remarkable spirit.
