Jason Larry Merino

Jason Larry Merino of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on August 24, 2021 at the age of 39. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend to many.

Jason was a server for 15 years at the Corpus Christi Country Club. He was also a graffiti artist and a rapper known as Merk Rock. Jason loved spending time with his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Gilbert Merino, and his best friend, Johnathon Ksmoov Barrera.

Left behind to cherish Jason’s memory are his wife; Ashli Gonzalez Merino; daughters, Saphire J. Merino and Jaslyn L. Merino; stepson, Anthony R. Castaneda; stepdaughter; Abella R. Castaneda; son, Jason Merk Merino; mom, Irene Lopez; father, Larry Lopez (Laura Perez); siblings, Vanessa Lopez (Eric Luna) and Larry Lopez Jr. (Ari Lugo); step-sister, Leann Perez; his companion dog, Luci; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Monday, September 6, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 9:30 AM to Corpus Christi Cathedral to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM.  Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Larry Lopez Sr., Larry Lopez Jr., Eric Luna, Brian Contreras, Fred Torres, and Ruben Castillo.

Face masks must be worn, and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
