Javier “Javi” Gonzales passed away on February 5, 2021, at the age of 48, in his hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Javi came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Gonzales and Hilaria Gonzales; and half-brothers, Louis Gonzales, John David Gonzales, and Pete Gonzales.
Among those left to cherish Javier’s memories are his high school sweetheart and wife of 30 years, Michelle Gonzales; daughter, Ryanna Gonzales; sister, Mary (Bret) Nedry; in-laws, Richard Herrera and Carmen Ramirez; sisters-in-law, Yvonne (Valerie) Herrera and Antoinette (Gary) Silinsky; two nieces; five nephews; numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles. He will also be missed by his true closest friends/“brothers”.
Javi married his high school sweetheart, Michelle Gonzales, on February 23, 2000. He had one daughter who was the miracle of his life. She brought joy to her “papa”.
Javi graduated from Moody High School in 1991. He enjoyed his 16-year career with CCAD; which he later retired from. He made several friends along the way that were an important part of his life. He loved nothing more than being there for his family and friends who could always count on him. He cherished his family and spending time with them. He loved cooking for his family; as he was an amateur chef before his career at CCAD.
Javi was a motorcycle enthusiast who loved his “Big Boss” motorcycle. He rode in the Toys for Tots parade to support the children of South Texas. He loved going for rides any chance he got.
His proudest moments were marrying the love of his life, Michelle, who supported him through all the good and bad days up until his last moments. Also, his daughter, “Nanas”, who was his world. He loved his Conch and Nanas more than words can express.
Javier was a much-loved husband, papa, brother, brother-in-law, and friend who will be deeply missed. He will live in our hearts until we are united again in heaven.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to Dr. Fariba Zarinetchi, MD and Dr. Charles J. Schecter, MD for their care and compassion.
