Jesse Carrillo, a loving husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2023, in Alice, Texas. Born on July 3, 1949, in Benavides, Texas, Jesse was a man of many talents and interests, known for his kindness, handiness, and love for his family.

He is proceeded in death by sons, Daniel and Jesse Carrillo Jr; parents, Oscar and Leonor Carrillo; in-laws, Luis and Susana Olvera; brother-in-law, David R. Olvera; and nephews, Marco A. Olvera and Oscar Carrillo III.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Linda Carrillo; sons, Gabriel (Roxanna) Carrillo and Jason (Connie Garcia) Carrillo; brother, Oscar (Maria) Carrillo Jr.; sister, Oralia (Manuel Mata) Davis; brother-in-law, Luis (Belinda) Olvera; daughter-in-law, Sally Carrillo; grandchildren, Kassandra Carrillo (Robert Barrera), Danielle Carrillo (Raul Gonzalez), Daniel Carrillo Jr., Alexandra Carrillo, and Addison Carrillo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jesse's family was the center of his world, and he was the heart of theirs.

Jesse was a proud graduate of Del Mar College Tech. School. His education paved the way for a successful career in the energy industry, where he worked for Mobil Oil, Duke Energy, and DCP Midstream as a Corrosion Tech. His colleagues admired his dedication, work ethic, and the knowledge he brought to his field.

Outside of work, Jesse had a passion for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and rancher, finding peace and joy in nature. He also enjoyed golfing, a sport that combined his love for the outdoors with his competitive spirit. Jesse was also a master at the grill, known for his barbecuing skills. His family and friends will fondly remember the many gatherings around his grill, filled with laughter, stories, and his famous barbecue. Jesse also had a sweet tooth and would enjoy a coconut popsicle or a scoop of ice cream, a simple pleasure that brought him immense joy.

Jesse was a man of many virtues, but his loving nature, kindness, and handiness were the qualities that stood out the most. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, whether it was fixing a broken appliance or offering a word of comfort. His kindness was immense, touching the lives of everyone he met. He was a handyman, not just in the literal sense, but also in the way he handled life's challenges with grace and resilience.

Jesse's life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and hard work. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide those he left behind.

In the words of his family, "Jesse was a man who lived his life with love, kindness, and a sense of duty. He was our rock, our guiding light, and our source of endless love and support. We will miss him dearly, but we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will always be with us, guiding us, and reminding us to live our lives with the same love, kindness, and resilience that he showed us every day.”

The pallbearers will be Kenny Barrera, Oscar Ortiz, Rudy Garza, Alex Araujo, Oscar Garza Jr., and Nestor Aguliar.

Jesse’s family will receive condolences on Monday, September 25, 2023, at Treviño Funeral Home Alice, 120 E Front St., from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at New Collins Cemetery.
