Jesus "Chuy" Conde Gonzalez, 82, passed away on December 5, 2012, in Corpus Christi, Texas, after a long battle with cancer. As the oldest in a family of seven and the early passing of his beloved father, he took on the responsibility of caring for his family at an early age. At the age of 30, he married and began a family of his own. In his early years, Jesus enjoyed taking photographs of various travel and work locations. He spent the majority of his career working in the refinery industry along the Texas Coastal Bend. He retired from Flour Daniels in 1993. Jesus was a devout Catholic and had a very strong work ethic. He enjoyed watching his sons on the baseball field and reminiscing about "the old days". Jesus maintained a strong faith throughout his years, believed in the power of prayer, combined with the rosary, one of his favorite prayers was The Guardian Angel Prayer. He was born in Gregory, Texas, on July 8, 1930, to Emilio and Maria Gonzalez. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ana Maria Perez Gonzalez and his children; Jesse Gonzalez, Irma (Rudy) Torres, Maria Hernandez, Dolores (Jeanpascal) Ferrand, Pedro (Christina) Gonzalez, Felix (Diana) Gonzalez, and C.C. (Jake) Gonzalez-Kurz; siblings, Dolores Flores, Emilio Gonzalez, Macario Gonzalez, and 14 loving grandchildren. The Gonzalez family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Corpus Christi Rehab and Nursing Home and Century Hospice. The family will be receiving friends at Trevino Funeral Home 3006 Niagara at Port on Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm. Rites of Christian burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 10:00 am; interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
