Jesus Gonzalez

Jesus Gonzalez, age 94, passed away on January 30, 2016. He was born in Orange Grove, TX on May 29, 1921. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Jesus proudly served and was a decorated US Army WWII Veteran, in the Pacific Theater. He had an avid interest in politics, watching western movies, and was a big fan of John Wayne. He also attended Lord of the Harvest Church, and will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Julia Gonzalez; mother, Maria Guadalupe Gonzalez; father, Calixto Gonzalez; and stepmother, Eudelia Gonzalez. Jesus leaves behind his loving children: Servando G. Gonzalez, Mary (Edward) Garcia-Smith, Patricia Ann Escobar, Sylvia G. Cantu, Margaret G. (Samuel) Rangel; 6 grandchildren: Rocky T. (Antonette) Gonzalez, Starla T. Gonzalez, Richard G. Garcia, Nicolas P. Garcia, Elliot (Tiffani) Escobar, Patrick (Destri) Escobar; four great-grandchildren, Maribel L. Trujillo, Leonardo A. Gonzalez, Urijah L. Escobar, Baby Boy Escobar; sister, Maria Elena (Steven) Walli; brother, Noe Gonzalez; and numerous nephews and nieces. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara at Port from 3 pm to 9 pm, with a Prayer Service to be held at 6 pm. A funeral chapel service will be held at Treviño Funeral Home on Friday, February 5, 2016, at 10:00 am; with burial to follow at 12 pm at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
