Jesus Jose Mireles, known affectionately as Jesse, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2024, at the age of 78. He was born on June 10, 1946, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Serapio and Raquel Mireles. Jesse's warmth and jovial spirit touched the hearts of many throughout his fulfilling life. Jesse leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter and is survived by his ex-wife, Emilia Mireles, who remained a cherished friend. Together, they raised a beautiful family, including their children Ada (Russell) Mott, Jesus (Mercy) Mireles, Esmeralda (Roy) Mendez, Marzino Mireles, and Benicio (Diana) Mireles. Jesse was a proud grandfather to Victoria, Kristina, and Russell Mott; Danielle, Natalie, and Jake Mendez; Maliya Mireles; and Arwen and Benny Mireles. His nieces and nephews, Melissa Mireles, Martha Mireles, Diana Mireles Hutto, Elizabeth Munson, Ruben Gomez, Leonard Mireles, Leonel Mireles, Estella Corona, Omar Corona, Adrian Corona, Teresa Mireles Hough, David Mireles, Christina Mireles DeWitt, Isaac Mireles, Carlos Mireles, Joel Mireles, Marissa Mireles, Arti Mosqueda, and Johnny Mosqueda—will forever cherish their fond memories with Uncle Jesse. He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings, Danny (Louisa) Mireles, Zeke (Tina) Mireles, Arnulfo (Helen) Mireles, and Beatrice (Jesse) Gomez, who will miss his infectious laughter and sage advice. Jesse is preceded in death by his beloved siblings, Carlos Mireles, Lillie Corona, and Millie Mosqueda. Jesse's life was marked by his passion for the great outdoors. He found solace and joy in fishing and hunting, often sharing his adventures and stories with family and friends. His love for walking was more than just a pastime; it was a way for him to connect with nature and the community he held so dear. Jesse's musical talents were a gift to all who knew him, as he played guitar and sang with a heart full of emotion, bringing smiles and often a sing-along from those around him. Above all, Jesse was a man who loved to give. He spent countless hours helping others, whether it was a listening ear, a helping hand, or sharing his wisdom. His sense of humor was one of his most cherished attributes—always ready with a joke, he knew just how to lighten the mood and make his children and grandchildren erupt into laughter. As we bid farewell to Jesse, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with love, laughter, and the melodies of a song well-sung. Though he has left this earthly realm, his spirit will continue to resonate in the lives of those he touched.
Rest in peace, Jesse. Your melody will forever play in the hearts of those who loved you.
