Jesus M. Toro

Jesus M. Toro passed away on February 2, 2018 at the age of 72. Jesus , who was lovingly known as Jay, was a husband, father, and friend. He graduated from Roy Miller High School and was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served his country proudly as a paratrooper during the Vietnam War, earning several medals, including the Purple Heart. In the years after his service, he raised his family with love.

We learned so many things from you and can’t thank you enough for giving us a the appreciation of family. We would like to sincerely thank our mom, for the many years of unconditional care giving she gave to our dad during his illness. We loved you and will always love you, Dad. May you finally rest in peace, we look forward to seeing you soon.

He is preceded in death by his grandsons, Jesus Jay Toro III and Joshua Jay Toro.

Jesus is survived by his wife, Esmeralda M. Toro; children, DeeAnn (Arnold Lopez) Toro, Jesus (Renee Garza) Toro, Norma (Adam) Toro-Garcia, Jimmy (Patricia Quiroz) Toro, Ricardo (Diana) Toro, and Joshua D. Toro; grandchildren, Elvia Julia Saucedo, Henry Cerda, Jr., Elvira R. Toro, Jason Toro, Aaron Toro, Ayden Toro, Garrett De Los Santos, and Adam De Los Santos; numerous great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and extended family.

The family will be receiving condolences on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara @ Port.; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral cortege will depart the funeral chapel at 9:00 a.m. to Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
