Jimmy Zamora, 55, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away surrounded by friends and family, Friday, January 31, 2014. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas on June 13, 1958, Jimmy graduated from Carroll High School in 1976. Before retiring due to disability, he worked as a technician for 20-plus years (Holiday Inn & Whataburger). Jimmy's notorious smile and heartening laugh brightened every room he walked into. His love for his children, family and friends was second to none. He was a dog lover, movie buff, sports watching, BBQing, outdoor enthusiast. He had a life-long affair with hunting, fishing, and soaking up rays at the beach. He had a heart of gold that touched so many and will forever live within the memories of his loved ones. Jimmy's joyous spirit was contagious and he will be dearly missed by those he left behind. He is survived by his son, Jimmy Zamora Jr.; daughters, Brittany Zamora and Stacey Z. (Richard) Martinez; sister, Elida G. (Rick) Garcia; brothers, Danny (Teresa) Gaitan and Robert (Barbara) Gaitan; seven nieces and nephews; and one grandchild: Jaelynn Martinez. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Humberto and Frances (Kika) R. Zamora, Guadalupe C. Gaitan; and brother, David Gaitan. The family will be receiving friends at Trevino Funeral Home at 3006 Niagara at Port on Saturday, February 8, 2014 starting at 11 am with a 1 pm Memorial Service.
