It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joe Rojelio Garcia, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who left us on October 29, 2025, at the age of 81. Joe was born on May 28, 1944, in Clarkwood, Texas, to Jaimie T. Garcia and Lily Esquivel-Garcia. He was a man deeply rooted in his family and the community, and he will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Jaimie T. Garcia and Lily Esquivel-Garcia, as well as his son, Roland Garcia; his brother, Rene Garcia; and his sister, Mary G. Garcia. Despite these losses, Joe’s spirit and love for his family continued to shine brightly throughout his life.He was a devoted husband to San Juanita Garcia, with whom he shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Joe is also survived by his children, Alma Tober, Joe Edward Garcia, Tony (Hilda) Garcia, and Joe Luis (Erica) Garcia. He took great pride in his family, and his legacy lives on through his grandchildren, Tony (Jennifer) Garcia Jr, Melanie (Richard) Funes, Abel (Samantha) Tober, Janis Garcia, Celeste Garcia, Zoey Garcia, and Jaylynn Garcia. Additionally, Joe was the proud great-grandfather to Kylie Garcia, Gabriella Funes, Madelina Funes, Tony Garcia III, Kyler Garcia, Luke Funes, Briella Tober, and Abigail Tober, as well as Trey Tober.Professionally, Joe was a skilled welder for many years before dedicating 25 years of service to the City of Corpus Christi’s Waste Water department, from which he eventually retired. His work ethic and dedication were unmatched, and he approached every task with the utmost care and attention to detail.In his personal life, Joe found joy in a variety of hobbies. He had a true passion for working in his garage, where he excelled as a welder specializing in trailer building and construction. He relished the challenge of hands-on projects, often transforming raw materials into functional works of art. When he wasn’t in the garage, Joe loved to unwind by watching classic western movies and cheering for the Texas Rangers. He enjoyed the thrill of playing bingo and bowling, and he cherished the time he spent cooking barbecue for his family—a testament to his nurturing spirit.The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered their love and support during this difficult time. A private funeral service will be held .Joe Rojelio Garcia will be remembered not only for his contributions to his family and community, but also for his unwavering strength, kindness, and love. Though he has departed from this world, his spirit will remain alive in the hearts of those he touched. Rest in peace, Joe, you will be forever missed.
