John Andrew Babbitt, 61, resident of Corpus Christi, TX, passed away on July 10, 2026. John A. Babbitt was born on January 13, 1965, in Corpus Christi, TX to Ernest Dell Babbitt and Betty Joann Babbitt. He is preceded in death by both his parents and two brothers, Mark Babbitt and Greg Babbitt.

John proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1983-1987. John was a loving husband and father. John’s favorite pastime was barbecuing and spending time at home with his family. John was best known for always having the answer to almost any question and his advice will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Tara Babbitt; his three children, John A. Babbitt II, Ivy Jane Babbitt, and Dell Riley Babbitt; as well as two brothers, Bruce (Janice) Babbitt and Matthew (Dorothea) Babbitt; and three sisters, Cindy (Terry) Harris, Melody (Rick) Kidwell and Susan (Mike) Hundl. There are too many nieces and nephews to name, but all were loved by him.

A graveside service will be held at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery on July 23rd, 2026, at 10:00 AM with Full Military honors.
