Jose Alvarado Cisneros

Jose Alvarado Cisneros, age 84, passed away on October 23, 2019. He was born in Kingsville, Texas and served in the United States Air Force. Jose possessed a passion for music and for over 50 years he worked as a radio announcer, musician, band leader, and promoter of Tejano music. In 1979 he founded K.F.L.Z. (“Que-Feliz”) radio station in Bishop, Texas. In his later years, his focus turned to Christian music.

Jose is survived by his loving partner, Viola Lopez; children, Joe Cisneros III (spouse Sally) and Cathy Sumiyoshi (spouse Mohan); grandchildren, Jose Mateo IV and Yasmyn; sister, Lupita Acuña (spouse Rene); and multiple nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 8, 2019, at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
