Jose De Jesus Garcia

Jose De Jesus Garcia, a man of vibrant spirit and a heart filled with joy, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2023, in Taft, Texas, at the age of 71. Born on June 29, 1952, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Jose's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and the pursuit of his many passions. Jose's journey began as the beloved son of Camilo T. Garcia and Joaquina Nava. His early years in Corpus Christi were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family, and he carried that sense of kinship throughout his life. Though he was preceded in death by his parents Joaquina and Camilo Garcia; his beloved wife, Cynthia M. Garcia; his brother, Camilo Garcia Jr.; and his godson, Valentine Flores Jr., Jose's legacy is carried on through his loving family. He leaves behind a family that adored him, his daughters, Sylveria E. Garcia and Gloria Lee Tanguma; his siblings, Lucy (Henery) Casas, Maria Jones, Margarita Riojas, Richard (Lulu) Garcia, Joe (Mary Alice) Garcia, Fred (Melissa) Garcia, Antonio (Magada) Garcia, Rosa Garcia, and Max Garcia. His role as a godfather was cherished, especially by his godson, Ramiro Mejia. Jose's life was further enriched by the love of his numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom found in him a source of endless support and joy. Jose also leaves behind his dog Panchito, his faithful companion, who was a true reflection of Jose’s spirit—devoted and loving. Together, they were inseparable, a duo that brought happiness to all who knew them. Jose's interests were as unique and colorful as his personality. He found great pleasure in attending renaissance fairs, igniting his imagination and sense of adventure. His home was a reflection of his eclectic tastes, adorned with an impressive collection of clown figurines that brought smiles to all who visited. Jose’s favorite meal was chicken fajitas paired with a refreshing glass of Big Red, a testament to his appreciation for the flavors of life. Jose's green thumb was evident in his garden, that showcased his nurturing nature and his ability to cultivate beauty in the world around him.

Those who knew Jose will remember him as a man who embraced life with enthusiasm and an unwavering positive outlook. His infectious laughter and kind-heartedness were gifts to everyone he met. Jose's presence was a beacon of light, and his memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been a part of his life. As we bid farewell to Jose De Jesus Garcia, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, marked by an unquenchable zest for life and a deep love for his family and friends. His spirit will forever be woven into the fabric of the lives he touched, and his memory will be treasured in the hearts of those he leaves behind. Jose's journey on earth may have concluded, but his story will be recounted with fondness and love for generations to come.
