It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jose Escamilla, Jr., who departed this life on September 27, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on February 21, 1960, Jose was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose warm spirit and dedication to family and community will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jose is survived by his devoted wife, Annette Escamilla, and his cherished children, sons, Alejandro Escamilla, Jose Escamilla III, Sebastian P. Escamilla, and daughters Cecilia M. Escamilla (Richard J. Rodriguez) and Sabrina Y. Prado (Carlos Flores Sr.). His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren, Skyla L. Rodriguez, Macayla N. Rodriguez, Richard J. Rodriguez, Adam J. Rodriguez, Carlos Flores Jr., Ryu Flores, Teagan K. Escamilla, and Emilia R. Escamilla who brought him immense joy and pride.
In addition to his immediate family, Jose is lovingly remembered by his brothers, Ramiro Rivera (Norma), Daniel Rivera (Rosalinda), Henry Escamilla Sr. (Janie), and Aniceto Escamilla (Hope †). Jose also shared a special bond with his sisters, Esmeralda Garcia (Israel), Sylvia Leos (Rene †), Irma Escamilla, Maria Leyva (Leony), Minerva Escamilla, Norma Arevalo (Manuel), Rachel Ferdinand (Andy), Irene Almaguer (Richard), and Criselda Damas (Jonathan). He leaves behind a large extended family of 43 nieces and nephews, who held him dear.
Jose was known not only for his unwavering love for his family, but also for his kindness and generosity to those around him. His life was a testament to the values of care and compassion, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St @ Port Ave; followed by recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. Services will conclude that evening.
Jose Escamilla, Jr. will be remembered as a man of integrity, a loving patriarch, and a gentle soul. His memory will remain forever in the hearts of those he left behind.
