Jose G. Esquivel passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on February 12, 2021 at the age of 70. Jose was a graduate of Roy Miller High School.
Jose proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. Many called him Joe, Pop, Hiva, and Brother. He was a respectable, joyful, and loving man. He was a man who struggled with rheumatoid arthritis but it never stopped him from what he loved to do most, "fishing". He also enjoyed barbecuing, going to festivals and flea markets, and watching sports with family and friends. His favorite foods were watermelon and sweet bread. He was a man who could hold interesting conversations and had advice for many life-learned lessons.
He will be dearly missed.
Jose is proceeded in death by his parents, Frutuoso M. Esquivel and Santos Q. Esquivel; aunt, Carolina Q. Esquivel; brother, Juan B. Esquivel; and sister, Mary Ann Cruz.
Among those to cherish his memory are his son, Allen Pearce (Joey); daughter, Catherine Conde; son-in-law, Johnny Rodela III; son, Seledonio Conde (Bubba); daughter, Patricia Casares (Dan); long time companion, Estella Conde; brothers, Freddy Esquivel, Mike Esquivel, and Daniel W. Garza; sister, Diana Carrizales; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and much more family and many friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to the VA, U.S. Renal Care, Del Cielo, and Spohn Shoreline 8th floor. The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St., Corpus Christi, TX; with a Rosary to be recited at 11:30am. Liturgy of the Word will then begin at 12:00 pm followed by Rite of Committal Interment at Rose Hill Memorial Park 2731 Comanche St., Corpus Christi, TX.
Face masks must be worn, and social distancing must be observed due to the current pandemic.
