Jose had a profound passion for cars, particularly his prized 1964 Chevy Impala, which symbolized his appreciation for craftsmanship and design. He also found great fulfillment in building homes and working with concrete, demonstrating his dedication to creating lasting structures that would bring joy to families. Family was of paramount importance to Jose; he treasured every moment spent with his children and grandchildren ensuring they felt the magnitude of his love and support.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Gracie Quintero Flores, his children: Samantha L. Flores (Evaristo Coleman "Pookie"), Victoria M. Jackson (Phillip K. Jackson), Joe Flores, Jr., Brandon C. Harwood (Ashley Harwood), Martin E. Harwood (Lori Valdez), and Jose Quintero (Jessica Quintero). Jose was a proud brother to Juan Flores and Maria R. Esquivel, and he held a special bond with his sister-in-law, Paula G. Jennings (Eli R. Hensley), whom he loved as his own child. He is also survived by his beloved mother-in-law, Christina A. Rivera (Luis A. Rivera†); his grandchildren, Sean M. Flores, Yaretzi M. Flores, Elleana G. Flores, Jose X. Quintero, Dunna M. Quintero, Joey Quintero, Jr., Brandon C. Harwood, Jr., Aaralyn C. Harwood, Araiyah F. Harwood, Anya F. Harwood, Liberty Portillo, and Adrian Rodriguez; along with his great-grandson, Luciano Quintero, who were a constant source of pride and joy in his life.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Maria Felicitas Lopez Torres and Maximiliano Flores Gonzalez, whose love and guidance shaped the man he became. As we celebrate his life and mourn his passing, we hold tightly to the values he instilled in us, loyalty, humor, and the importance of family.
