Jose Rogelio Gonzalez Patiño, born on December 14, 1938, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2023, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Jose was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. His love and devotion to his family were evident in everything he did. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 24 years, Lupita Gonzalez Patiño, his children, Yolanda, Kymberly, and Reyna, and his step-sons, Raymundo, Jesus, Jose, and Juan Montemayor, as well as his many grandchildren. Jose is preceded in death by his father, Manuel Patiño; his mother, Aucension Patiño; brothers, Jacinto, Manuel, Rudy, Abel, and Raul; and sisters, Elida Longoria, Beatrice Casanova, and Esther Gomez.

Throughout his life, Jose had a strong work ethic and demonstrated commitment to his career. He retired in 1994 after 31 years of service at Chrysler Corp. in Detroit, Michigan, an accomplishment he was proud of. His coworkers appreciated his hard work and dedication to the company. In addition to his career, Jose was a proud veteran who served his country in the United States Air Force. His service to the nation is a testament to his character and dedication.

As we reflect on Jose's life, we remember his love for his family, the sacrifices he made, and the legacy he leaves behind. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by the many people who had the pleasure of knowing him. Jose Rogelio Gonzalez Patiño will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and he will never be forgotten.

Jose’s family will receive condolences on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara @ Port Ave. from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 9:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1322 Comanche St. Rite of Committal and Inurnment with full military honors will be held at a later date at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
